The RSPP is one of many organisations
that are working across the UK

The government itself
has also developed policy to try and save the red squirrel from extinction. The UK Biodiversity Action Plan (UKBAP) is the
government’s response to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) signed in 1992, and is co-ordinated through the
UK Biodiversity Partnership. Under UKBAP there are three types of Action Plans which set priorities for nationally and locally
important habitats and wildlife. These plans cover Species Action, Habitat Actions, and Local Action plans.
Red squirrels are
one of the species that are covered by the UKBAP. The following link provides information on the common policies, actions
